Facebook account disabled, locked or suspended? Guides and appeal help
Last reviewed:
Facebook uses very similar words for very different problems. A disabled account has been switched off and needs an appeal. A locked account is waiting for you to prove your identity. A suspension or restriction limits the account for a period, and a message that a feature is temporarily blocked means that one function is paused because of how it was used.
The guides below take each of these cases in turn. They explain what the notice means, which form or check to use, what ID Facebook may ask for, how long answers realistically take and when an account cannot be recovered. They also cover the recovery scams that spread whenever people are locked out, including apps and services that claim to unlock accounts.
Every guide is free, written from Facebook's public Help Center and Community Standards, and dated so you can see when it was last reviewed. Facebook alone decides the outcome. If the official routes have not worked or the account is critical for your business, the section at the end describes our paid service and its refund terms.
