Instagram account disabled, suspended or banned? Guides and appeal help
Last reviewed:
Instagram can restrict an account in several different ways. It can disable it, suspend it, lock it for a security check, limit a single feature such as posting or Stories, or remove content one piece at a time. Each situation has its own appeal route, its own deadline and its own chances of success, and mixing them up is one of the main reasons appeals fail.
The guides below explain, in plain language, what each message means, which route to use, what to write in the appeal, how long reviews realistically take and when an account cannot be recovered. They are free, they include copy-and-paste appeal templates and they are based on Instagram's own Help Center. We review them regularly and show the date of the last review at the top of every page.
Only Instagram decides whether an account comes back, and no service can change that. If you have already used the official routes and still cannot get in, or the account is too important to risk another mistake, the section at the end explains how our paid recovery service works, what it costs and when we say no.
