My TikTok appeal wasn't approved. What now?

Short answer

If TikTok says your appeal was not approved, a reviewer confirmed the original decision and the in-app route is usually closed for that decision. The options that remain are to check whether the notice offers another review, to contact TikTok Support with new evidence, to bring the decision to a certified independent body if you live in the EU (for example Appeals Centre Europe, free, for decisions made in the last six months), and to learn which guideline was cited so it does not happen again. Do not open new accounts to get around the ban.

What "appeal not approved" means

It means a second look, by a person or by an automated review, reached the same conclusion as the first. It does not always mean that TikTok has read your explanation in detail. The notice usually names the guideline involved. That is the key piece of information, because any further step has to address that exact point.

Why appeals fail most often

  • The violation was clear. The video or behavior matched a rule, and the appeal did not address it.
  • The appeal was generic. A message that says "please reconsider" without a fact gives the reviewer nothing to check.
  • There was a pattern. Several earlier strikes make a permanent ban more likely to stand.
  • Evasion was suspected. Accounts created after an earlier ban are treated more strictly.

What you can still do, step by step

  1. Re-read the notice and Inbox. Check whether there is a button for another review, a different form for a specific kind of violation or a note saying the decision is final.
  2. Collect new evidence. Examples: the original video file with its creation date, proof that music or footage is licensed, screenshots of the account history, or evidence that the account was accessed by someone else.
  3. Contact TikTok Support. Use Report a problem in the app (Settings and privacy) or the contact options in the TikTok Help Center, referring to the date of the ban and the appeal. Add only the new facts. TikTok's articles do not promise a further review.
  4. Use specialist channels if they apply. Sellers can contact Seller Center support for TikTok Shop problems, and advertisers can contact the ads support team.
  5. Consider an independent review if you live in the EU. Under the Digital Services Act, certified out-of-court dispute settlement bodies can examine some decisions on account suspension. Appeals Centre Europe covers TikTok, is free, and requires the TikTok decision to be less than six months old; it does not review decisions about fake accounts, ban evasion or hacked accounts, and its decisions are not binding (TikTok lists its handling of these requests on its DSA contact points page).
  6. Download or secure what you can. If you still have copies of your videos on your phone, keep them for a future account that follows the rules.

How to ask Support for the specific reason

A vague appeal gets a vague answer. When you contact Support, ask three concrete questions: which video or behavior triggered the decision, which guideline was applied and what, if anything, you can still do. You are more likely to get a useful answer if you keep the message short and polite.

Message template

Hello, my account @[username] was banned on [date] and the appeal was not approved on [date]. Could you tell me which content or behavior led to the decision and which guideline applies? I would like to understand it and, if possible, send additional information. Thank you.

What to send with new evidence

Appeal template

Hello, my account @[username] was banned on [date] for [violation named in the notice], and my appeal on [date] was not approved. I would like to submit additional information: [for example, the original video file shows it was recorded by me on [date] / a licence for the music / proof that my account was accessed from another device on [date]].

I ask for a further review of the decision. Thank you.

Only add what is new. A repeat of the first appeal rarely changes the answer.

What not to do

  • Do not create new accounts to get around the ban. It is against TikTok's rules, and TikTok may restrict or permanently ban the new account.
  • Do not pay anyone who says they can reverse a final decision. Nobody outside TikTok can.
  • Do not share your login with a helper. If the account is ever restored, you would lose it again.
  • Do not post about the ban with false claims. Accurate public posts are fine; invented ones will not help.

Rebuilding safely if the ban is final

If TikTok confirms a final ban, the useful question is how to avoid repeating the cause. Read the guideline that was cited, and delete or fix similar content on your other platforms. If the rules allow you to open a new account, do not try to restore the old identity. Use original content, avoid copyrighted audio outside TikTok's licensed library and keep a copy of everything you publish on another platform.

When the answer is probably final

If the violation is severe, if you have already received several strikes, or if the decision is final, there may be no way back to that account. At that point the best step is to understand the rule that was applied, read the first appeal guide to make sure you used the right route and, if you are allowed to start again, build a new presence that follows the guidelines.

A realistic plan for the next 30 days

  1. Week 1: save the notices, collect evidence and send one well-prepared request to Support.
  2. Week 2: if you are in the EU, decide whether to use an out-of-court dispute settlement body such as Appeals Centre Europe, which covers TikTok decisions made in the last six months.
  3. Weeks 3 and 4: if the answer is still negative, move your audience to another channel such as a mailing list or a different platform, and decide how to continue.

Be cautious with services that offer to reverse a final decision for a fee. Nobody outside TikTok can.

Frequently asked questions

Can I appeal again after "appeal not approved"?

Usually the in-app option closes. You can still contact Support with new evidence, but a second review is not guaranteed.

Does contacting TikTok Support through different forms help?

Using the correct form once helps. Sending the same request through many forms does not speed anything up and may create confusion.

Will TikTok tell me which video caused the ban?

The notice often names the violation, and sometimes the content. If it does not, ask for the specific content in your message.

Should I contact TikTok on social media?

Public posts rarely lead to a review and replies are generic. Use the Support form once.

Is it worth paying for help after a rejected appeal?

Only if the provider explains what they will do differently, such as preparing new evidence, states the price and refund terms in writing and never asks for your password. Nobody can promise a reversal.

Can I recover my videos after a final ban?

Normally not without access to the account. Keep original files of anything you publish.

Already appealed and still locked out?

If you have followed these steps and the platform rejected the appeal, or the account earns you money and you cannot risk another mistake, we can review your case. Send the username, the ban notice and the date on Telegram and we will tell you, before you pay anything, whether we can take it. No service can guarantee reinstatement: the decision always belongs to the platform.
